Buffy the Vampire Slayer Birthday Party | Lafayette LA Event Photographer

What happens when your sister wants a Buffy the Vampire Slayer Birthday Party? You throw her one, of course! Complete with vampire killer stakes and plenty of bats!

It’s Jessica’s Birthday!

We always make birthdays a big deal around here! Even the most homemade/DIY party can be a blast and provide the BEST memories!! My sister is no exception to wanting a celebration for her birthday! Usually, it involves something scary — going to the movies to see the newest scary movie, renting a scary movie, watching a scary movie on Hulu or Netflix, reading a scary book… ok, ok, you get it, she LOVES scary things! So what better way for an avid Buffy fan to celebrate than with a Buffy the Vampire Slayer Birthday Party?! So we threw her one!

What happens when you can’t find anything in your theme? You DIY it. That’s how we work around here! Armed with a Cricut and a 3D printer, we did just that. I made my own designs using inspiration from the books and the show (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). We had a sign for The Bronze, the Buffy logo, a 3d printed logo for the cake (along with a 3d printed Mr. Pointy!), 3D printed Mr. Pointy toothpicks, and even 3D printed a bat cookie cutter to ‘cut the cheese’ into bats (hehe). Bats lined the walls along with skeletons for decor. A garlic wreath adorned the table (gotta fend off those vampires!) aside a 3D printed skull filled with novelty rings shaped like bats and spiders.

Food included bleeding heart pop-tarts (with stakes), bleeding heart cookies (with stakes), bloodshot eyeball deviled eggs, creepy peepers pasta pie, blue corn chips, fire Takis, and Doritos. There were two charcuterie boards — one Halloween candy-themed and one traditional cheese, meats, and crackers. We drank blood-red punch from skeleton glasses rimmed with sprinkles and made Halloween wreaths to take home!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Birthday Cake

Her one request for cake was a mint chocolate chip ice-cream cake. So of course we HAD to get it! Even though Hurricane Ida got in the way of her original party date and we had to postpone the cake, Maggie Moo’s Marble Slab got us all fixed up! I think she enjoyed celebrating 37 in Buffy the Vampire Slayer style! Jessica received Buffy books and even a Buffy action figure! We also made her Spike’s coffee cup (in color change cup form — she says it looks like blood when she fills it with cold drinks). If you know my sister, you know she SCREAMS when opening presents and gets very excited.

Overall, I think she LOVED everything! Of course, being the event photographers we are, we captured a few photographs to commemorate the occasion. What better time to share them than during spooky season?!
